What Is Temporal Forces

Temporal forces will be the fifth Scarlet & Violet set. The expansion will feature meta-changing cards that will be a massive deal for the Pokemon TCG. We can expect Paradox Pokemon like Walking Wake, Iron Leaves, Iron Thorns, and Flutter Mane. None of them had cards in Paradox Rift

Temporal Forces will replicate the Wild Force and Cyber Judge sets and possibly be based on the Crimson Haze set. These are all Japanese sets. From this, we can predict some of the cards to feature in Temporal Forces.

The latest Scarlet & Violet set will have similarities to the English Paradox Rift set, released on November 3rd, 2023. This means we can expect a player-oriented set, Paradox cards, terra-type ex cards, Ancient and Future versions of Pokemon, and some meta-setting mechanics and abilities.

The Set description from the Pokemon TCG is as follows:

The ranks of Ancient and Future Pokémon continue to grow! Walking Wake ex breaks free of the past alongside Raging Bolt ex, while Iron Leaves ex delivers high-tech justice with Iron Crown ex. Outside Area Zero, Wugtrio and Farigiraf shift types as Tera Pokémon ex, and Pokémon Trainers everywhere prepare for the return of ACE SPEC cards with uniquely powerful effects. A rupture in time brings wild beasts and cyber visions to battle in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Temporal Forces expansion!

Temporal Forces Chase Cards

Iron Thorns (Illustration Rare)

Even though it's in the Elite Trainer Box. This card is stunning. To start, this artwork is stunning. On the card, we can see a beautiful sunset fade into darkness. We can also see a large field with mountain terrain in the background

Iron Thorns has been highly anticipated for months now. Since its inclusion in the Iron Valiant ex-Special Illustration Rare, fans have been waiting to see this Pokemon on its card.

Flutter Mane (Illustration Rare)

This Ancient Pokemon resembles the well-known Misdreavus. On the card, we can see it floating past with a red aura surrounding the Pokemon. This card will be fascinating due to its ability which blocks the opposing Pokemon’s abilities.

Flutter Mane has an attack that allows you to place 2 damage counters on any of the opponent’s benched Pokemon. This attack resembles Moonlight Shuriken on Radiant Greninja.

Reuniclus (Illustration Rare)

This rare Reuniclus illustration is adorable! In the artwork, we can see a Duosion sleeping near the Pokemon. Most water-based artworks look great and this one delivers.

This card has an ability that allows you to look at the top 8 cards of your deck and put any number of Pokemon you find there onto your Bench. Shuffle the other cards into your deck.

Gouging Fire (Special Illustration Rare)

Gouging Fire is the first Ancient Special illustration. This card has an impressive artwork. The background is a rainforest. The card portrays the Pokemon as the king of the jungle.

Gouging Fire's 2nd attack, Exploding Flare, does 260 Damage for only 3 energy. However, you can use it once before the card must be moved from the active spot to use the attack again.

Walking Wake (Special Illustration Rare)

Walking Wake is another great special illustration card. It may not be a fan favourite. However, the card is undeniably good. It has a detailed illustration. With Walking Wake climbing a tree within a blue forest.

The attack, Catharsis Roar, does 120 damage for 3 energy cards and will do an additional 120 damage if the opponent's card is affected by a special condition. Walking Wake's ability means any damage it inflicts won't be affected by any effects on the opposing Pokemon.

Raging Bolt (Special Illustration Rare)

This card might easily be a fan favourite. The artwork on this card is unbelievable. On the card, we can see Raging Bolt inside a canyon with a thunderstorm raging behind it.

The card's attack, Bursting Roar, lets you discard your hand and draw 6 cards for 1 colourless energy. Raging Bolt's other attack, Extreme ascent, does 70 damage for each energy card you discard.

Iron Leaves (Special Illustration Rare)

Iron Leaves is the first Future Special Illustration Rare. In the artwork, we can see Iron Leaves jumping on a different planet! In the background, we can see a moon-like object protruding from the green sky.

Iron Leaves has an ability that allows you to instantly place it in the active position and take the energy cards of the ex-active Pokemon. The attack Prismatic Edge, inflicts 180 damage but can't be used on the next turn.

Iron Crown (Special Illustration Rare)

Iron Crown is my least favourite future Pokemon. The Pokemon has a weird mix between a horse and a droid. However, the artwork is good. In the background, iconic Pink Tulip trees loom behind the Pokemon.

Iron Crown's ability called Cobalt Commander, adds 20 more damage to any Future Pokemon's attacks. Excluding It's own. Its attack inflicts 50 damage to 2 Pokemon.

Iron Boulder (Special Illustration Rare)

Iron Boulder Special Illustration is an impressive card. Its artwork is unique. On the card, Iron Boulder is using its Laser energy as a platform to walk on.

This card is a heavy attacker. Repulsor Axe does 60 Damage. On the next turn if attacked. You can place 8 damage counters on the opponent's active Pokemon. Its 2nd attack does 200 damage but you have to discard 2 energy cards.

Temporal Forces brings back super strong "Ace Spec" cards! Originally, from Black & White? You can only have one in your deck, but they can seriously boost your game. We know 6 Ace Spec cards out of the expected 7 so far.

Ace Spec Cards

Prime Catcher

This card allows you to switch 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon to the Active Spot. If you do, switch your Active Pokemon with 1 of your Benched Pokemon.

This Ace Spec card is so powerful. It has no real downside and players will be simply gusting each other. Being able to switch your active card and your opponent’s is overpowered. Prime Catcher will instantly overshadow all the other Ace Spec cards due to its power.

Neo Upper Energy

This is the First Energy Ace spec card ever. When Neo Upper Energy is attached to a Pokemon, it provides colourless Energy.

As long as this card is attached to a Stage 2 Pokemon, this card provides every type of Energy but provides only 2 Energy at a time.

Master Ball

There has already been a Master Ball Ace Spec card in the Plasma Blast set. Just like its predecessor, Master Ball allows you to search your deck for a Pokemon, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn.

Hero's Cape

The Hero’s Cape Ace Spec card adds 100 HP to any Pokemon card it is attached to. This is good. But in my opinion, it isn’t as good as the other Ace Spec cards.

Drum of Awakening

The Drum of Awakening is another solid Ace Spec card. This card lets you draw a card for each Ancient Pokemon in play. This is incredibly powerful. A deck that focuses on Ancient cards can draw up to 6 cards! The drum of Awakening could especially benefit the Roaring Moon ex deck.

Reboot Bot

Reboot Bot gives you an energy card from the discard pile for each Future Pokemon in play. Then attach it to a Pokemon. This card could be a massive benefit to Future Pokemon-oriented decks.
