The Pokemon TCG welcomes its newest set, Paldean Fates, arriving as the fifth instalment in the Scarlet & Violet series following Paradox Rift. Get ready for shimmering reprints of top cards released throughout 2024 within this exciting expansion!
Paldean Fates marks the exciting return of the "Fates" series, following in the footsteps of the hugely successful Shining Fates and Hidden Fates, both renowned for their dazzling array of shiny Pokemon. These predecessors set a good precedent for Paldean Fates, hinting at another potential collector's favourite on the horizon.
The set will be similar to the Shiny Treasure ex set, released in Japan on the 1st of December. Hinting at the cards in Paldean Fates. However, we must note that these sets are different. A few cards are missing in both sets.
What is Paldean Fates?
Paldean Fates is the third shiny set in recent years. Bringing us a few never-before-seen cards and many new artworks for some of the most popular cards this year. Below is a complete breakdown of the set.

11 Shiny Pokemon ex
7 Pokemon ex and 3 Tera Pokemon ex
3 illustration rare cards and 8 special illustration rare cards with shiny Pokemon or supporter cards
6 hyper rare card
This expansion will continue ex and terra Pokemon from previous sets. It is also going to be a massive set. Paldean Fates is geared towards collectors of the Pokemon TCG. So, the set will feature beautiful artwork and new effects over new mechanics or meta-changing cards.
However, players can still benefit from the new artwork to make their existing decks look even better with shiny versions of their cards.

What is Included In Paldean Fates
Paldean Fates will have staggered releases. With different products released every 2 weeks. On the 26th of January 2024, the first products will be released. Other products will follow on the 9th and 23rd of February 2024. We are unsure which products will come out on each date.

Paldean Fates Most Valuable Cards
The fifth Scarlet & Violet set will have some of the most beautiful and valuable cards we’ve seen in the history of the Pokemon TCG. The most valuable cards will be Charizard ex (SIR), Mew ex (SIR), Gardevoir ex (SIR), and Iono (SIR).
Charizard ex will be the most valuable card of this set and maybe the most valuable card in years. Its beautiful artwork is sure to make collectors go into a frenzy.
In Shining Fates and Hidden Fates, the top chase card has been a Charizard. And in my opinion, this Shiny Charizard ex looks better than both of them. This card is also super popular for its role in the Charizard ex deck

You shouldn't overlook Mew ex. Mew is the first Pokemon and one of the most popular. The artwork shows Mew appearing out of a bubble, referencing the first Pokemon movie. This Shiny illustration is sure to fetch top dollar.

Gardevoir is a super popular Pokemon. This card perfectly resembles the grace of Gardevoir. As we can see it glides through a blue forest. Gardevoir ex is used in the popular Gardevoir ex deck.

Iono is another valuable card we can expect in this set. This card has a beautiful sunset in the background. Iono is also a vital card in many decks in the current meta. So it’s sure to be very valuable.

We can expect a bunch of Popular and new Pokemon in Paldean Fates. The most important ones included in the expansion are Charizard, Pikachu, Mew, Gardevoir, Palafin, Wugtrio, Pawmi, Squawkabilly, Ceruledge, Dondozo, and Tinkaton.
