Twilight Masquerade is the latest expansion in the Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet series. The Twilight Masquerade expansion will focus on Kitakami, introducing a new region first introduced in The Teal Mask expansion for the Scarlet & Violet games. Twilight Masquerade will be released after the expected Temporal Forces expansion.
We know little about the Kitakami region. We know the area has some new and fascinating Pokemon including the four versions of Ogerpon, Dipplin, Sinistcha, Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Okidogi, and others. Based on the information, we can confirm that the Twilight Masquerade cards will revolve around these Pokemon.
Twilight Masquerade will be based on two Japanese sets: Mask of Change and Crimson Haze. These sets will give us an idea of what to expect in our up-and-coming set.

Welcome to the land of Kitakami, where people and Pokémon live harmoniously with nature. Uncover the mystery of the masked Legendary Pokémon Ogerpon, appearing as four fearsome types of Tera Pokémon ex, and team up with more newly discovered Pokémon, like Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex and Sinistcha ex. Growing in power, Greninja, Dragapult, and Magcargo dazzle as Tera Pokémon ex. Last but certainly not least, more ACE SPEC cards round out the festivities in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Twilight Masquerade expansion!

The video from the Pokemon company gives us a good look at six cards: Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon ex, Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex, Cornerstone Mask Orgerpon ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon and Ogre’s Mask. These cards will have a massive impact on the competitive scene in the Pokemon TCG. Here is the Pokemon TCG official reveal of Twilight Masquerade.
The breakdown of what we can expect in Twilight Masquerade is 167 Main set cards, 6 Ace Spec cards, 7 Pokemon ex, 7 terra Pokemon ex, 21 illustration rares, 11 Special Illustration rares, 6 hyper rare cards and more.
167 Main Set Cards: Twilight Masquerade will have 167 cards before secret rares.
6 Ace Spec Cards: Twilight Masquerade will include Ace Spec Cards. Ace Spec cards are powerful Special Energy or Trainer cards limited to 1 per deck.
7 Pokemon ex & 7 Terra Pokemon ex: Twilight Masquerade will continue the ex cards in the Scarlet & Violet series.
21 Illustration Rares: We can expect 21 illustration rares of cards in the set.
11 Illustration Rares: We can expect 11 Special illustration rares of cards in the set.
6 Hyper Rare Cards: 6 Golden etched Hyper Rare cards.
Twilight Masquerade Set Breakdown
Twilight Masquerade is scheduled to release on May 24th, 2024, as the May set following Temporal Forces, which is set to release in March of the same year.
Twilight Masquerade will be available on the first day of the North American International Championships, which is expected to add more excitement to the tournament.
Twilight Masquerade will be available on Pokemon TCG Live a day before its official release, on May 23rd, 2024.
Twilight Masquerade Release Date
Three Chase cards in Twilight Masquerade are Greninja ex, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, and Perrin Special Illustration Rare.
Chase Cards In Twilight Masquerade
Greninja will become a highly desirable card due to its popularity, stunning artwork, and impressive moveset. It is one of the most beloved starter Pokemon in history, and for good reason. The card boasts a potent moveset with two perfect attacks, which can deal significant damage to many important Pokemon types
In addition, its Duplicates Barrage attack works perfectly with Boomerang Energy, which can reattach itself to the Pokemon it was previously attached to if discarded due to an effect from an attack.
Greninja ex-Special Illustration Rare has amazing artwork which is just so cool. It shows Greninja jumping in its terra form, blue shurikens cutting through the sky and paint splashing everywhere. I can already say that this is my favourite card in the set.
Card Type / HP / Stage: Fighting /310 / Stage 2
[W] Ninja Blade: 170 damage. You may search your deck for a card and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.
[W][C][C] Duplicates Barrage: Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. This attack does 120 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon.
Weakness / Resistance / Retreat Cost: Lx2 / F-30 / 2
Greninja ex-Special Illustration Rare
Bloodmoon Ursaluna Ex will likely be a highly sought-after card due to its well-designed and engaging artwork. Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a new Pokemon from the Kitakami region. The Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex-card is an interesting attacker. This card will be useless in the early game because its attack costs five colourless energy. However, as the opponent takes more prize cards the attack gets cheaper. So Bloodmoon Ursaluna's ex could be a card included in decks as a just-in-case attacker.
Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex-Special Illustration rare has such a friendly artwork. The card shows Bloodmoon Ursaluna drinking honey whilst a Munchlax and two Teddiursa watch it amused. This Special Illustration will be a top card to look out for.
Card Type / HP / Stage: Colourless /260 / Basic
Ability: Veteran’s Technique
This Pokémon's Blood Moon attack costs [C] less for each Prize card your opponent has taken.
[C][C][C][C][C] Blood Moon: 240 damage. During your next turn, this Pokémon can't attack.
Weakness / Resistance / Retreat Cost: Fx2 / / 3
Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex-Special Illustration Rare
Perrin Special Illustration Rare is such a cool card and will be incredibly valuable. The Perrin Trainer card is good. It can reveal 2 Pokemon and place them in the deck so you can draw two different Pokemon. However, the artwork will carry the card
Perrin Special Illustration Rare’s artwork is amazing. This particular Perrin Card pairs with the Hisuian Growlithe Illustration rare. The Perrin SIR shows the perspective of the Hisuian Growlithe from above and the Hisuian Growlithe IR shows the perspective of Perrin.
Card Text:
Reveal up to 2 Pokémon from your hand and put them into your deck. If you do, search your deck for up to that many Pokémon, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.
Perrin Special Illustration Rare
Twilight Masquerade will include 6 Ace Spec Cards including Hyper Aroma, Survival Cast and Unfair Stamp. We are still waiting for three more.
Twilight Masquerade Ace Spec Cards
Card Text: Search your deck for up to 3 Stage 1 Pokémon, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.
Hyper Aroma
Card Text: If the Pokémon this card is attached to has full HP and would be Knocked Out by damage from an attack from your opponent’s Pokémon, that Pokémon is not Knocked Out, and its remaining HP becomes 10. Then, discard this card.
Survival Cast
Card Text: You can play this card only if 1 of your Pokémon was Knocked Out during your opponent’s last turn.
Each player shuffles their hand into their deck. Then, you draw 5 cards, and your opponent draws 2 cards.
Unfair Stamp
The main Twilight Products are the: Booster Pack, Elite Trainer Box, 3 Pack Blister, Single Pack Blisters and Booster Box.
