Scarlet & Violet Twilight Masquerade will be worth buying for players but not for collectors. Twilight Masquerade introduces new cards and mechanics essential to the current meta.

However, for collectors, Twilight Masquerade doesn’t offer anything new. The artwork in the set will be great, but they will be similar to what we have already seen. I’d recommend sticking with older sets unless you specifically like the Pokemon or artworks included in Twilight Masquerade.

On the other hand if you're not too bothered about which set you buy. Then Twilight Masquerade will be widely accessible in stores at a relatively cheap price.

What Is The Twilight Masquerade Release Date?

The best products to buy in Twilight Masquerade are the Build & Battle Box and Booster Bundle. Buyers, please avoid the single-pack blister because it has the worst price-per-pack ratio. Here’s a detailed description of each product.

Which Twilight Masquerade Products Should You Buy?

Masquerade Booster Pack

Pre-order Price: $5

The Twilight Masquerade Booster Pack contains 10 cards from the expansion. Every Pack includes an energy card, trainer card and code card. If you purchase a single booster pack, it will have the same price-to-pack ratio as many products. However, these products usually include additional items.

Twilight Masquerade Elite Trainer Box

The Twilight Masquerade Elite Trainer Box is perfect for collectors and players. Each box contains nine booster packs, one full-art promo card, 65 card sleeves, 45 energy cards, six damage counter dice, one coin, two condition markers and a collector’s box.

The Elite trainer box provides a special promo card for collectors and multiple items needed to play the Pokemon TCG for players. The product has an alright pack-to-price ratio but for everything that is included, it's still worth it.

Twilight Masquerade Booster Box

The Twilight Masquerade Booster Box is the best way to buy Twilight Masquerade Packs. If you have a large budget and plan to purchase then the Booster Box will meet your needs. The Booster Box also has the best pack-to-price ratio on the market, making it the most value-packed.

Twilight Masquerade Single Pack Blister

Pre-order Price: $13

Price Pack Ratio: $13

Do not buy the Twilight Masquerade Single Pack Blister. This product is expensive and offers no value outside of some useless cards, a coin and a single pack.

Twilight Masquerade Single Pack Blister

Twilight Masquerade 3 Pack Blister

Pre-order Price: $20

Price Pack Ratio: $6.66

The Twilight Masquerade 3 Pack Blister provides more value than the single-pack blister with more packs and promo cards. However, for $20 you are better off buying something else. I recommend the Booster Bundle box over this product. However, if you want to open packs and lack alternatives, it is good enough.

The Twilight Masquerade Build & Battle Box is a player-oriented product that gives players an early taste of the new expansion. The product comes with a pre-built deck of 40 cards, 4 Booster packs, and 1 of 4 unique foil cards.

The best chase cards in Twilight Masquerade will be Greninja ex-SIR, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex-SIR, Perrin SIR and Lana’s Assistance SIR. As cool as these cards are, they don't make the set worth buying for collectors because there are similar cards in alternative sets. Check out the full list of best chase cards from Twilight Masquerade.

What Are The Chase Cards In Twilight Masquerade?

Greninja ex will be the best chase card because of Greninja’s popularity and competitive viability. In a 2020 survey, Greninja was chosen as the most popular Pokemon. I agree. Greninja is one of the coolest Pokemon with a unique style that has grown in popularity since its introduction in the Kalos region.

Greninja ex is a powerful card. Greninja ex hits cards like Iron Hands ex and Arceus Vstar for weakness. The first attack, Ninja Blade, deals 170 damage for a single energy and lets you draw any card from your deck. Duplicate Barrage deals 120 damage to any 2 of your opponent’s Pokemon. However, you must discard two energy attached to Greninja ex. The attack can be paired with Boomerang Energy to reduce the energy loss to only one.

[W] Ninja Blade: 170 damage. You may search your deck for a card and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.

[W][C][C] Duplicates Barrage: Discard 2 Energy from this Pokémon. This attack does 120 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a beautiful card with a viable moveset, it will be a highly desired chase card. Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a new Pokemon from the Kitakami region and a variant of Ursaluna.

What makes this card stand out is the illustration. The card's artwork depicts Bloodmoon Ursaluna drinking honey in a forest surrounded by Pokemon and vegetation. Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex-Special Illustration Rare has one of the best artworks of the set.

The card also has a viable moveset. Veteran's Technique lowers the energy cost of its attack each time the opponent claims a Prize card. Its attack move, Blood Moon, requires five energy and can deal 240 damage. As the game progresses, the cost of the attack will decrease significantly, making it easier to use.

Perrin will be an expensive chase card because of her excellent and innovative artwork. Perrin Special Illustration Rare is a creative part of a larger artwork. The card's artwork pairs with Hisuian Growlithe Illustration Rare to share the perspective of the two characters.

In Perrin's artwork, we see the perspective of the Hisuian Growlithe as shown by the lens of the camera held by Perrin. However, in the Hisuian Growlithe artwork, we see the perspective of Perrin looking down on the Pokemon.

Card Text: Reveal up to 2 Pokémon from your hand and put them into your deck. If you do, search your deck for up to that many Pokémon, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.

My Final Verdict is that Twilight Masquerade will be an excellent set for players with new mechanics, cards and Pokemon to use in decks. However, I would only recommend buying this set if you're a collector looking to complete your collection. Other collector sets such as Scarlet & Violet 151 and Paldean Fates are better options at a similar price point.
